UL hosts Summer 2024 XTREME Consortium Meeting
From July 2-4, 2024, UL's XTREME PI Martin Cunneen with the help of Gerry Meehan and Cathriona Murphy from the ICO hosts the international partners of the XTREME consortium. Numerous performances energised the three days ranging from the ICO string quartet to lWAMD's traditional musicians. The consortium meeting was hosted in the ICO studio and provided a rich creative and artistic space to further energise and enhance XTREME research. The days of events and activities further fostered collaboration and ensured project goal alignment to innovate mixed reality environments for art and culture.

XTREME DATA CAPTURING EVENT
From 11-15 November, the XTREME team participated in a significant data capture event at the Virtual & Immersive Production Studio, University of Nottingham. The event included performances by the Irish Chamber Orchestra Quartet and artists from the Irish World Academy of Music & Dance. These recordings will be used to recreate immersive experiences with the 4DSOUND system, enhancing spatial sound and room acoustics for mixed reality productions.
